Aiken County Deputy Matthew Blakley is off the job, after seven months of working. Deputies found his wife dead inside their Coulter Drive home in North Augusta.     A late night stabbing in one Columbia County community left one woman dead and her husband in the hospital. The incident happened in Grovetown in the Ivy Falls Subdivision. That's located near William Few Parkway and Baker Place Road. Neighbors are in disbelief because people said the couple kept to themselves, for the most part, and seemed just fine. Tammy Powell woke up shocked to the news that her neighbor is now dead….after just chatting with her Sunday.

    One person is dead after an early morning accident in Aiken County. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 5:34 a.m. on Monday June 15th on Storm Branch Road and Ping Log Road. Only one vehicle was involved in the accident and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The name of the victim has not been released until the family has been notified. We will update with more information as it becomes available.

    Because of the success of the Art the Box project, Augusta officials want to paint more traffic boxes.The Greater Augusta Arts Council is going to apply for a state tourism grant to fund the painting of at least 12 more boxes.The organization wants the project to go deeper into the Garden City.The Greater Augusta Arts Council is not asking for money from the city, but the Augusta Commission does have to approve the next phase of the project.

    A Columbia County man gave News Channel 6 a deeper look into life with Parkinson's Disease following one politician's announcement that he's living with it. Like Senator Johnny Isakson, Jim Herzberg lives with Parkinson's. He agrees that the Senator can still work because the diagnosis is not a death sentence. “Now, will you die from it? Not really. It's not a disease where you get the death sentence,” he said.

The group said Doctors Hospital athletic trainer Jennifer London helped students become more aware about concussions and how heat affects their health. London said Evans' Athletic Director Kevin Kenney has helped the Knights family go above and beyond state standards."be aware of each other.

    Around town Kenith Scott is known as Po Boy and neighbors told News Channel 6 he wouldn't hurt a fly. In fact, they said he would actually help others. Shaneka Moore lives next door to where he was murdered. She said she isn't scared. She only wishes she could have saved his life. “I wish I could have helped because he was a nice guy and I admired him just like a father figure,” she said.

GDOT said detours were chosen instead of a temporary bridge for the more than $10 million project because of the type of construction being done and to keep workers and drivers safe.
