    Scuttle's Island Rezoning Tabled Until April, Citizens Disapprove

    Columbia County leaders pressed the pause button on a local man's plan to bring a water park to Grovetown. Scuttle's Island was supposed to open this summer on Louisville Road, right across from Lights of the South. But construction has not started because of a number of concerns county leaders have about the project. Thursday night's Planning Commission meeting was packed with people who were against the water park.

    Deputies said a stabbing and shooting at a bar in Burke County left one man dead and another in the hospital. The Burke County Sheriff's Office said it happened around 10:30 p.m. on Friday night.     No kick board in week three, just Lindsay's hands to guide me through the waters of the Wilson Family YMCA swimming pool. She let go of my hands sometimes to show I could swim without drowning. After one month of lessons, I was comfortable enough to learn backstroke. “Don't let me go!” I yelled in the middle of the pool as Lindsay kept her knee in my back to guide me to independence.

    A woman died a few years ago, but came back to life. Evans Elementary School Principal Naesha Parks is sharing her story of revival in the CSRA. The Columbia County educator is a miracle. She found herself dead on an operating table at a young age, but she said it was all predestined by God to help others. “I'm very sick. You have to call 911,” Parks said back in June of 2008. Those were the last words Parks said to her friend shortly after having lunch at McDonald's.

    A group of people who started an altercation inside Augusta Mall Wednesday evening is answering questions with police. A long car line of deputy cars from Richmond County Sheriff's Office sat outside the food court entrance. Deputies and investigators joined mall security in trying to come up with what happened. “We were told by witnesses that the subject was stabbed. We found two individuals that were involved in the altercation that were identified as the suspects in the case.
