    The nationwide response to the police killings of African Americans throughout the country led legislators in both the South Carolina State House and Senate to pre-file bills that would require officers to wear body cameras. While lawmakers in South Carolina have yet to decide whether officers should have a camera attached to their bodies, a group of students shared their thoughts on how the conflict in Ferguson impacted them.

    Good news tonight for one local county impacted by the devastating winter storm that hit the CSRA earlier this year. The ice storm that destroyed several areas back in February left many governments with a hefty bill and even more debris. Columbia County received word that it will get federal financial relief. Emergency Director Pam Tucker announced the Debris Management Plan has been accepted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Take everything you've ever known about cats and dogs fighting and forget it. That's because two best friends, a cat and a dog duo, are hoping to be adopted together so that they can continue their lifelong friendship. Operations Manager Daniel Mayne described it this way, “They're inseparable. They are right next to each other all the time.”

    A Richmond county child is dead tonight after he was hit by a motorcycle. The coroner reported five-year-old Cameron Walker was hit just before 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of Amsterdam Drive, off Barton Chapel Road in the Barton Village subdivision. He was taken to the hospital where he later died from blunt force trauma. A USA Today study breaks down the numbers, proving that blacks are arrested more.

    One local student got a taste of the Big Apple after being placed in the national spotlight this holiday. Lucy Craft Laney Comprehensive High School senior Dana Hudson participated in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as a cheerleader. Her mother, Dorothy Hudson, tells News Channel 6 that Dana tried out for the All American Cheerleader team at Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp at West Georgia.
