    The time is drawing near for Georgia and South Carolina voters. The deadline to register to vote is Saturday in South Carolina and next Monday in Georgia. That is also the beginning of advance voting in the Peach State. Voters can cast their ballot at the main elections office downtown. On October 25 there will be Saturday voting in Richmond County. This year the Board of Elections is trying something new that other counties have been instituting around the state.

    People traveling on a popular road in the City of Harlem will now be able to travel faster, but there's a catch.The city of Harlem has approved an ordinance to raise the speed limit from 35 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour on Harlem-Grovetown Road from Oliver Hardy Court.But with the increased speed limit, public safety officers will now be able to use radar and issue speeding tickets.The new signs are set to go up in the beginning of November with a grace period of a few weeks with warnings.

That's the message Atlanta based anti-sex trafficking advocate Jeff Shaw shared with law-enforcement, church leaders and others in the Augusta area desiring to learn more about how they can save victims from a life of abuse. “Our dream is to have a safe home opened up here so that girls who are rescued in Augusta don't have to be transferred to Atlanta,” said Shaw, the Director of the Atlanta Dream Center.

The last 14 years could have played out differently for Dean Beasley after doctors told him he had cancer. Instead, he continues to live and he's this year's Light the Night Honored Hero. “Either I'm not going to be able to walk or I'm going to die,” Beasley said when he first found out that he had cancer.

It allows doctors to perform minimally invasive surgery with the assistance of a robot. The da Vinci is HD (High Definition), 3-Dimensional and allows doctors to see a better picture while working. Christopher Hogan, Trauma Acute Care Surgery Director at Doctors Hospital, said it is better than using only hands or the current surgical tools.
